Created by Gabrielle Roth and practiced by tens of thousands worldwide, 5Rhythms® is a philosophy, perspective, performance art and a dynamic movement practice rooted in the principle that if you put the psyche in motion it will heal itself.

5Rhythms® Fundamentals: A quarterly exploration with Jeffrey Boynton

In this quarterly laboratory, we will explore the fundamentals of the 5Rhythms® practice, gaining essential knowledge that will enhance all embodied inquiries. Each inquiry an opportunity to reconnect our embodied selves to the patterns and currents that move around and through us. Offering diverse and expansive musical inspiration, Jeffrey will guide participants through the 5Rhythms® Waves map:

Flowing: the practice of Fluidity, the gift of knowing

Staccato: the practice of Definition, the gift of expression

Chaos: the practice of Release, the gift of transformation

Lyrical: the practice of Connection, the gift of lightness

Stillness: the practice of Presence, the gift of perspective

A quarterly 3 hour dive into 5Rhythms® essentials to enrich the dance and life's more practical needs.  A link between being human on and off the dance floor. 2024 dates:

The building entrance is between Studio IX/JBird and Habitat for Humanity's offices. Once in the building (number 961) walk to the end of the hallway and make a right. Waves™: A 5Rhythms® Movement Meditation with Samantha and Jeffrey

Each 5Rhythms Waves class is an opportunity to drop into this dynamic practice of the way energy moves in the body. Through the rhythms of Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness we will explore the qualities that enable us to access a deeper relationship to the intelligence and freedom of the body.

Using an eclectic mix and variety of soundscapes and beats from all over the planet these deep surging powerful rhythms can be both an invitation to awaken to our truth and an outrageously fun opportunity to move the body and dance. You can't get it wrong. It is for anyone, any shape, any level of fitness, any level of dance-ability. All you need to participate is a body, curiosity, and a willingness to move.
